BYD Song Ultra
China name: 宋Ultra
BYD's mid-size SUV in the Song range, positioned between the Song Plus and the Song L. It launched in China in March 2026 as an EV with the second-generation Blade Battery and flash charging, and a DM-i plug-in hybrid followed on 28 May 2026.

First generation 2026–present
The Song Ultra EV launched in March 2026 and charges from 10 to 97% in about nine minutes. The Song Ultra DM-i launched on 28 May 2026 from 129,900 yuan, with an optional LiDAR package.
Powertrain, battery & charging
EV: a single rear motor of 240 kW (305 N·m) with a 68.4 kWh battery rated at 620 km CLTC, or 270 kW with an 82.7 kWh battery rated at 710 km, both with the second-generation Blade Battery. DM-i (DM 5.0): a 1.5 L engine with a 175 kW drive motor and a 26.6 kWh or 38 kWh battery, rated at 205 km or 310 km of electric range.
Where to find the VIN
On most cars the VIN is visible at the base of the windscreen (driver side) and on a label in the driver-side door opening; check your registration document too.
China-spec vs export-spec
The Song Ultra is a different car from the Song Plus, Song Pro and Song L, and the EV and DM-i versions have completely different drivetrains. Reports in July 2026 said BYD would use the Ultra name for the Song range in place of the L suffix, so naming may keep changing. Charging inlets differ by market: China-spec cars use the GB/T standard and export versions are built for the destination market. Send the VIN.
