BYD Qin Plus
China name: 秦PLUS · Export: Qin Plus
BYD's compact sedan in the Qin range, sold as a DM-i plug-in hybrid and as an EV. It was one of BYD's best-selling models in China.
Generations & years
First generation 2021–present
The Qin Plus DM-i was one of the first BYD cars with the DM-i system, with its market launch event in January 2021 alongside the Tang DM-i and Song Plus DM-i; the EV version followed. A 2023 model-year DM-i facelift launched in February 2023, and a Glory Edition followed in February 2024.
Powertrain, battery & charging
DM-i: 1.5 L engine (81 kW, 135 N·m) with an 8.32 kWh or 18.32 kWh LFP Blade battery, giving about 55 km or 120 km NEDC electric range. EV: 48, 57 or 72 kWh Blade LFP battery depending on version.
Where to find the VIN
On most cars the VIN is visible at the base of the windscreen (driver side) and on a label in the driver-side door opening; check your registration document too.
China-spec vs export-spec
The Qin Plus, the older Qin Pro (2018–2021) and the newer Qin L (2024) are different sedans, so do not assume parts fit across them. The related Destroyer 05 is sold through a different BYD dealer network, so confirm which car you have. DM-i and EV versions have different drivetrains. Charging inlets differ by market: China-spec cars use the GB/T standard and export versions are built for the destination market. Send the VIN.
