Generations & years

  • First generation 2019–present

Song Pro launched in 2019 with petrol, EV and Song Pro DM plug-in hybrid versions. A 2021 facelift introduced the Song Pro DM-i, which became the only Song Pro on sale from 2022; a 2023 model-year update followed.

Powertrain, battery & charging

Early cars: 1.5 L turbo petrol, Song Pro DM plug-in hybrid (older DM system) and Song Pro EV (135 kW combined output). From 2021: Song Pro DM-i plug-in hybrid with BYD's DM-i system.

Where to find the VIN

On most cars the VIN is visible at the base of the windscreen (driver side) and on a label in the driver-side door opening; check your registration document too.

China-spec vs export-spec

The Song Pro, Song Plus and Song L are different cars of different sizes, so do not assume parts fit across them. Petrol, EV, DM and DM-i Song Pros have different drivetrains, and the 2021 facelift changed the plug-in hybrid system. Charging inlets differ by market: China-spec cars use the GB/T standard and export versions are built for the destination market. Send the VIN.
