Generations & years

  • First generation 2024–present

Launched in Australia at the end of October 2024 at A$57,900, and listed as the Shark 6 in several markets. More than 6,000 were sold in Australia in the first four months of 2025.

Powertrain, battery & charging

Plug-in hybrid on BYD's body-on-frame DM-O platform, which also underpins the Fangchengbao Bao 5 and Bao 8. Australian cars have a 29.58 kWh Blade battery, about 100 km of electric range and about 800 km total range.

Where to find the VIN

On most cars the VIN is visible at the base of the windscreen (driver side) and on a label in the driver-side door opening; check your registration document too.

China-spec vs export-spec

The Shark 6 is a body-on-frame ute, unlike BYD's passenger-car-based SUVs, and shares its DM-O platform with the Denza B5 and B8, so parts differ from BYD's unibody cars. Charging inlets differ by market: China-spec cars use the GB/T standard and export versions are built for the destination market. Send the VIN.
