BYD Han L

China name: 汉L

BYD's newer full-size flagship sedan, on sale since 2025 with battery-electric (EV) and DM-i plug-in hybrid versions. It is a separate model from the earlier Han.

Generations & years

  • First generation 2025–present

Launched in China in 2025, with overseas launches expected after the domestic release.

Powertrain, battery & charging

DM-i and DM-p plug-in hybrids use the DM-i 5.0 platform with a 29.5 kWh Blade LFP battery. EV versions use the Super e platform with an 82.4 kWh Blade LFP battery on a 945 V electrical architecture, with rear-wheel drive or dual-motor all-wheel drive.

Where to find the VIN

On most cars the VIN is visible at the base of the windscreen (driver side) and on a label in the driver-side door opening; check your registration document too.

China-spec vs export-spec

The Han L is not the same car as the Han (2020 onward) and sits on newer platforms, so do not assume parts fit both. Charging inlets differ by market: China-spec cars use the GB/T standard and export versions are built for the destination market, so charge-port parts are not interchangeable. Send the VIN.
