Generations & years
First generation 2023–2025
Launched in China in 2023 (code B07 in development), with a 19.27 kWh battery and about 105 km of electric range, on a 2,800 mm wheelbase.
Second generation 2025–present
A refreshed Xiaolong Max with the next-generation Hi4 system went on sale in spring 2025, on a slightly longer 2,810 mm wheelbase. Sources describe it variously as a facelift (11 March 2025) or a second generation (sales from 16 April 2025).
Powertrain, battery & charging
Hi4 plug-in hybrid four-wheel drive: a 1.5 L petrol engine with front and rear electric motors. The 2025 car pairs the Hi4 system with a 1.5 L engine (about 114 hp) and two motors, and charges from a home socket in about 3 to 4 hours.
Where to find the VIN
On most cars the VIN is visible at the base of the windscreen (driver side) and on a label in the driver-side door opening; check your registration document too.
China-spec vs export-spec
The Xiaolong Max and the smaller Xiaolong are different cars. The 2023 and 2025 Xiaolong Max differ slightly in size and in the generation of the Hi4 system. The H6L is the ICE-only variant, with a different drivetrain, and a 2024 regulatory filing used the Haval H7 name for what appeared to be this car, so confirm the exact version. Charging inlets differ by market: China-spec cars use the GB/T standard and export versions are built for the destination market. Send the VIN.
