MG's compact SUV, positioned above the ZS. The first generation is the production version of the MG X-Motion concept; the second generation is a rebadged, redesigned version of the third-generation Roewe RX5 and is export-only.

First generation 2018–2024
Facelift known in China as the Linghang.
Second generation 2024–present
Launched July 2024; includes a plug-in hybrid with a 24.7 kWh battery.
Powertrain, battery & charging
First generation: 1.5-litre turbo petrol; plug-in hybrid (EHS) with a 1.5-litre turbo, 16.6 kWh battery and 90 kW electric motor. Second generation: petrol and plug-in hybrid (24.7 kWh battery).
Where to find the VIN
On most cars the VIN is visible at the base of the windscreen (driver side) and on a label in the driver-side door opening; check your registration document too.
China-spec vs export-spec
First- and second-generation HS are different cars; petrol and plug-in hybrid versions differ in powertrain parts. Send the VIN. Check the charge-port standard on your car (China-spec GB/T vs export CCS2/Type 2) before ordering charging parts.
