Tank 300
China name: 坦克300
Tank's compact ladder-frame 4x4, originally a Wey model before GWM made Tank its own off-road brand in 2021. Sold as a petrol, diesel and plug-in hybrid, and the brand's best-selling model.
Generations & years
First generation 2021–present
Began as the Wey Tank 300 and became the Tank 300 and Tank 300 PHEV when GWM turned Tank into a brand in April 2021. A Tank 300 Polar Edition with a 2.4 turbo diesel was limited to 300 units, and a diesel version was planned for Thailand.
Powertrain, battery & charging
Ladder-frame chassis, about 4,760 mm long. The petrol hybrid versions use a 2.0 turbo four-cylinder (180 kW, 380 N·m); a 2.4 turbo diesel and a plug-in hybrid (Tank 300 PHEV) are also offered.
Where to find the VIN
On most cars the VIN is visible at the base of the windscreen (driver side) and on a label in the driver-side door opening; check your registration document too.
China-spec vs export-spec
Petrol, diesel and plug-in versions have different engines and drivetrains, so the version matters. The Tank 300 is a different, smaller car than the Tank 400, 500 and 700. Charging inlets on the plug-in version differ by market: China-spec cars use the GB/T standard and export versions are built for the destination market. Send the VIN.
