Jetour's compact off-road style SUV on Chery's Kunlun platform. In China the petrol car is the Jetour Freedom and the plug-in hybrid is the Jetour Shanhai T1; export markets, including Saudi Arabia, sell it as the Jetour T1.
Generations & years
First generation 2024–present
The Shanhai T1 plug-in hybrid was shown in 2024 and launched in China in October 2024. The petrol Freedom went on sale in China on 14 February 2025, and the T1 launched in Riyadh on 19 to 20 February 2025. It reached Uruguay in July 2025 and Malaysia in 2026, and a Freedom 7 Plus was added in China in 2026.
Powertrain, battery & charging
Petrol: a 1.5 turbo (135 kW, 290 N·m) with a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox and front-wheel drive, or a 2.0 turbo (about 180 kW, 390 N·m) with an 8-speed automatic and BorgWarner four-wheel drive. Some markets list slightly lower outputs (125 kW and 180 kW) for the same engines. The Shanhai T1 is a plug-in hybrid, with an all-wheel-drive version added later. Body about 4,706 mm long on a 2,810 mm wheelbase.
Where to find the VIN
On most cars the VIN is visible at the base of the windscreen (driver side) and on a label in the driver-side door opening; check your registration document too.
China-spec vs export-spec
The Freedom, Jetour T1 and Tissan T1 (Iran) are the petrol car, while the Shanhai T1 is the plug-in hybrid with a different drivetrain. Engine outputs and wheelbase vary by market, and the T1 is a different, smaller car than the T2. The Freedom 7 Plus is a later upgraded variant. Charging inlets on the plug-in version differ by market: China-spec cars use the GB/T standard and export versions are built for the destination market. Send the VIN.
