Generations & years

  • First generation 2023–present

Unveiled officially in China in August 2023 with a CATL battery and up to 720 km of range. An extended-range version was revealed by the regulator in September 2024, and the 2025 model year updated the powertrain to match the Sterra ET. The Exlantix ES was Euro NCAP tested in 2025.

Powertrain, battery & charging

Battery-electric and extended-range versions on Chery's E0X platform. The extended-range version uses the SQRH4J15 1.5 L turbo engine from Chery's Kunpeng C-DM system only as a range extender.

Where to find the VIN

On most cars the VIN is visible at the base of the windscreen (driver side) and on a label in the driver-side door opening; check your registration document too.

China-spec vs export-spec

The Sterra ES, Exlantix ES and ES7 are the same car. Battery-electric and extended-range versions have different drivetrains, and the 2025 model-year update changed the powertrain, so the build date matters. It is a sister model of the Luxeed S7. Charging inlets differ by market: China-spec cars use the GB/T standard and export versions are built for the destination market. Send the VIN.
