Changan CS55 Plus
China name: 长安CS55PLUS · Export: Changan UNI-S (Middle East)
Changan's compact SUV, relaunched as the CS55 Plus in 2021 on the UNI design language. It is sold as the Changan UNI-S in the Middle East and imported to Latin America as the CS55 Plus.
Generations & years
First generation (CS55) 2017–2021
Launched at the 2017 Shanghai show and facelifted as the CS55 Plus in 2019.
Second generation (CS55 Plus) 2021–present
Introduced in March 2021 at the Shanghai show with the design language of the UNI-T and UNI-K, and sold as the UNI-S in the Middle East. Earlier CS55 Plus versions stayed in production beside it.
Powertrain, battery & charging
A 1.5 L turbo petrol engine from Changan's Blue Whale family (NE15TGDI), rated at about 180 hp (132 kW) and 300 N·m, with a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox and front-wheel drive. The pre-2021 car had about 155 hp. About 4,515 mm long, 1,865 mm wide and 1,680 mm tall on a 2,656 mm wheelbase. A CS55 EV was also sold.
Where to find the VIN
On most cars the VIN is visible at the base of the windscreen (driver side) and on a label in the driver-side door opening; check your registration document too.
China-spec vs export-spec
The CS55 Plus (2021 onward) and the earlier CS55 and 2019 CS55 Plus are different generations with different engine outputs, and the UNI-S is the Middle East name for the 2021 car. It is a different car from the CS35 Plus and CS75 Plus. Charging inlets on the CS55 EV differ by market: China-spec cars use the GB/T standard. Send the VIN.
