Hongqi's first SUV, a compact luxury crossover styled by Italdesign and built in Changchun since 2019. It was previewed by the U-Concept at the 2017 Shanghai show.

First generation 2019–2022
Launched in 2019 with a 2.0 turbo petrol engine of 165 kW.
2023 facelift 2023–present
Unveiled at Auto Shanghai 2023 with restyled front and rear ends and a 185 kW version of the 2.0 turbo engine.
Powertrain, battery & charging
A 2.0 L turbo petrol engine (CA4GC20TD-32) with an Aisin 6-speed automatic gearbox: 165 kW (221 hp) before the 2023 facelift and 185 kW after it. About 4,760 mm long on a 2,870 mm wheelbase.
Where to find the VIN
On most cars the VIN is visible at the base of the windscreen (driver side) and on a label in the driver-side door opening; check your registration document too.
China-spec vs export-spec
The HS5 and the larger E-HS9 are different cars with different drivetrains, and the 2023 facelift changed the engine output and body panels, so the build date matters. Send the VIN.
